Erected by THOMAS DONALD in memory of his father JAMES DONALD who died at sea on April 1830 aged 36 years. His brother JAMES DONALD who died 21st December 1832 aged 6 years. Also his brother EBENESER DONALD who died at sea 22 April 1848 aged 28 years and was buried at Old Castle Asia in the Dardenelles. Also his mother HELEN FOTHERINGHAM who died 25th April 1879 aged 81 years.
West Face:-
THOMAS DONALD who caused this stone to be erected, died 27th Febry 1882 aged 59 years and is buried at Syra, Greece.
His second son Lieutenant Colonel GEORGE GRAY DONALD died 21st December 1927 aged 72 years and is buried on the Mount of Olives, Palestine.
The second daughter HELEN FOTHERINGHAM DONALD died 8th August 1939 aged 77 years and is buried here.
